Can signers contribute to a gift card?

Modified on Fri, 13 Sep at 6:53 AM

Yes! GroupGreeting cards are intended to be sent from a group, so we have made it possible for the group to contribute to gift cards as well.

The card creator can enable group contributions when selecting the gift card.

If enabled, the group contributions will add to the total value of the gift card purchased by the card creator. Each contribution is a separate transaction, and a minimal fee will be added to cover the costs of payment processing, fraud risk, customer support, etc.

Please note this group contribution setting cannot be changed after the card is purchased, and only certain retailers allow group contributions. To view more info about contributions, click the "See how it works" link when selecting the card (see image below).

When signers visit the card link, they will see an Add to gift card button. Note that signers may not be able to contribute if the gift card has already reached its maximum allowable value (generally $250 - $500 depending on the retailer).

Individual gift card contribution amounts are not visible to anyone.

The card creator can view a list of who has contributed to the gift card by clicking the orange gift card icon on the card cover preview image. The card creator can also view the gift card total amount before the card is delivered by going to the card link and clicking the View gift card button.

The card recipient is able to view the contributor list by clicking view contributors inside the card. After clicking this button, the recipient will be prompted to log in or create an account with the same email address the card was sent to in order to view the list.
