How do gift cards work?

Modified on Wed, 20 Nov at 12:30 PM

The card creator will have the option to add a digital gift card to any GroupGreeting card. This can be done during the card creation process or after the card has been purchased.  The card creator will need to select the gift card vendor and make a contribution to get it started.

The card creator can also decide whether or not to allow group contributions to the gift card. If enabled, group contributions will add to the total value of the gift card. Each contribution is a separate transaction with its own small processing fee. Please note only certain retailers allow group contributions.

When selecting a gift card, the currency of the gift card should be the currency of the recipient. Please be sure to select the correct country flag in the dropdown menu.

Currently, we offer gift cards in the following countries: United States, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. We plan to add more countries in future updates.

To see how contributions work, you can click "see how it works" on the gift card selection page (screenshot below).

The gift card redemption link will be sent to the recipient in the same email that contains the GroupGreeting card link. The gift card will be available 24 hours from the time the card was delivered. The recipient can click on the View EGift Card button to claim the gift card, at which point they'll be directed to our gift card provider’s site (prezzee.com). The gift card can only be redeemed by clicking the redemption button in the email from GroupGreeting.
